JR Alcantara CMG is the owner of The Dog Groomer and has been in the industry over 30 years.

JR moved to New Zealand in 2012 from Los Angeles where he had a passionate life in the world of dogs. In the States, JR was an All Breed Professional Handler and Kennel owner. At the kennel, he offered Boarding, Training/Behaviour modification and Grooming. As a Profession Handler, he travelled the country and world caring for, grooming, showing and training customers pets to become Champions. His knowledge in nutrition, coat care and conditioning has made him have a successful career. JR is a breeder of German Shepherds, Bouviers does Flandres and Lakeland Terriers.
